• Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
• Cooperates and communicates with other sections in the Engineering department
• Liaise directly with other departments regarding the completion of work orders and prioritize in order of guest satisfaction
• Operation and record system for the property to minimize energy expend
• Monitors and analyses energy costs for the department
• Carry out any minor repairs to guest rooms or public areas
• Carry walkies talkies and respond to requests from other departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day
• Conduct lighting checks to ensure all light are in working order
• Interacts and cooperates with Hotel guests and outside contractors as directed by his superior
• Interacts and cooperates with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions, and festivities
• Investigate reported faults for laundry and kitchen equipment and report to Engineer Supervisor of Kitchen and Laundry technical.
• Ensure plant rooms are checked and cleaned and are in operating order
• Ensures that house rules are followed and obeyed
• Ensures that personal grooming and hygiene standards are being observed doing spot checks.
• Ensures all engineering employees follow the Standards and Procedures as issued from time to time
• Ensures punctual attendance and adherence to duty schedules by all associates
• Complete work orders as requested by the Engineer Supervisor/ Asst Chief Engineer/ Chief Engineer to meet customer requirements
• Responsible for all operation and issue of engineering department on duty.
• Responsible to issues warnings to his subordinates for infringements of Hotel Rules and Regulations
• Recommends to the Engineer Supervisor / Assistant Chief Engineer, new policies and procedures for a more economical operation and maintenance program
• Assists tradesmen with maintenance and repair when required
• Initiate/identify project work required throughout the hotel
• Implement and action the preventative maintenance program
• Demonstrate flexibility in changing the work schedule in light of guest priorities

Qualifications -
• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
Experience -
